Thousand Islands Appraisals is a leader when it comes to technology
At Thousand Islands Appraisals, technology is the name of the game. We have the latest devices to help us get the job done quicker than ever. From smart phones, to laptops, GPS, you name it. Call us geeks. Call us nerds. Call us what you will, but by all means, call us at (315)482-9358 for appraisal orders in Jefferson County! Why? We're glad you asked.
While appraisal fees haven't necessarily gone up over the years, the demands placed on individual appraisers have. We put quality first, but we know that turnaround time is a big concern these days. Therefore, we've found that the best place to save time is by adjusting our workflow. We strive to be the very best, and we've found that using the very latest in new technology allows us to provide more comprehensive reports, quicker turnaround times and of course, the very best in customer service.
Innovating the Ordering Experience
Years ago, the majority of orders came in via fax and were confirmed with phone calls once we arrived at the office. It might be hours before a client even knew if we could do the order. Things are quite a bit different now and when an order is placed on the site, we get an e-mail on our phones. We often log into this site from the field and send back an e-mail confirmation – including the time and date for the inspection if we've been able to talk to the occupant.
At Thousand Islands Appraisals we understand it's all about "cycle time". We use our resources to reduce waiting between communications since the speed at which we get things done directly effects your bottom-line. Through features on this website, we can actually speed up the entire appraisal process.
Data Gathering Tools
Gathering the data for an appraisal is a demanding process. We spend a great deal of time obtaining the facts on the subject property and the local market data and trends. Once again, technology has stepped in to help Thousand Islands Appraisals.
Instead of using paper forms and pencils and then re-keying all the information back at the office, don't be surprised to see us with a tablet PC or collecting data using an application written for our phones that even lets us sketch a floorplan right on site. And instead of using an outdated tape measure, a larger percentage appraisers are beginning to use accurate laser measuring devices that also help measure hard to access areas.
Using this technology allows us to ensure that your report is on the money, requiring fewer call-backs and revisions. A real money saver for busy appraisal clients.
Here at Thousand Islands Appraisals we want you to know you have more options to receive your report.
At a very minimum, you can expect us to deliver your final report electronically as a PDF. Most of our clients prefer e-mail because we're all accustomed to getting attachments like PDFs in our mail. It's a lot faster than the old days when everything was on paper. But, we've even been able to innovate report delivery with this website.
Everyone knows how frustrating it is to lose a file. Or have you ever had problems sending or receiving an e-mail because of the file size? We have the technology to overcome those problems, too. Whenever we send an appraisal, the client is e-mailed a download link to retrieve the PDF. So, at that point, it doesn't matter if all the extra photos and maps in the report result in a large file that would normally be blocked by e-mail. And the best thing is that the file will be hosted on this site for 90 days. So if anything happens to the file, you can log back in here and retrieve it again - saving you time, since we won't even need to run back to the computer.
Digital Workfile Technology
It would probably be easier if appraisers could never have to think about an assignment again after writing and giving it to the client. However, appraisals are used to document the condition of a property on the inspection date. Therefore, appraisers must keep their reports for 5 years, allowing them to recall any appraisal at any time to either defend the valuation or to be used in other legal proceedings.
To sum it all up, Thousand Islands Appraisals uses all the technology at our disposal technology to improve service. By storing every aspect of the appraisal - notes, sketches, supporting documentation and calculations - along with the appraisal electronically, we're able to retrieve that file at any time and recall precisely what that assignment was about.
These are just a few examples of how we use technology daily. Utilizing the right tools, along with the appraisal know-how that you've grown to expect allows the appraiser to collect the appraisal data to finish the report faster and more accurately than previously possible.
